Stock Photography and Legal Issues

Stock Photography and Legal Issues

1. A model release is a form signed by any person in a photo in order to be able to use the photo for commercial uses.
2. Keywords help you to narrow down the photos that you can use and ultimately pick the right one for whatever the goal is.
3. You should be careful with brand names because they can sue you if you don't have permission to use that brand within the photo.
4. You should save space in case of the need for text or headlines within the photo.
5. They don't have to pay any money to use the image, and the image is easy to find.
6. If the image you used is good, someone else probably used the image as well.
7. Rights Managed photos
8. Royalty Free is for everyone while Rights Managed means you probably won't see the same photo on another website.
9. I never thought about people in the background of a photo, like through a window.
10. I was interested because I was wondering if I had to make them sign a release, too.
